Well, Summer, for the most part, is over. We've drained the pool and emptied the sandbox and are repairing the lawn! Bring on the cooler temperatures!
We celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary in the usual stay-home-and-do-the-usual style! Wow! Can't believe it was eight years ago we were standing on the beach exchanging vows and signing the papers! Yes, he did sign! I have pictures as proof!
Summer school ended in early August. It was kind of sad as we had grown very attached to Grace's clinician. She was wonderful! She and Grace made lots of progress with language! We're now getting 2 and 3 word sentences! Grace is singing verses to songs and asking for help and really able to communicate with us! She's hardly ever quiet and we don't mind one bit! The cutest is 'Hide-n-seek'. It goes like this . . .
(as she covers her eyes and we scurry off to hide) "1-2--6-seben-8-9-10 ready i come" and then we wait . . . and wait . . . and wait (she hasn't gotten the 'seek' part yet!)
In late August we went to see Grams Wheeler and Grace rode her bike and we went to the bakery (one of Grace's favorite words from Little People) and the Ft. Wayne Children's Zoo. It is very nice! Grace was most interested in the 'zoo train' and the 'jellyfish'. And now she hops like a kangaroo!
Our next adventure was our annual trip to the Shakespeare Festival in Stratford, Ontario Canada. Grams went with us and we were able to take turns going to the shows and saw Oklahoma!, My One and Only, and To Kill a Mockingbird. Great shows and great food! Beautiful weather!
The first day of school has come and gone . . . Grace's third year of preschool. This year she seems to really be getting into the groove. She especially loves the music . . . not so much wearing the apron during texture table time (we decided this year she needs to learn to wear it)!
We've scheduled home AVB five days a week, mostly in the mornings, so between that and preschool in the afternoons, we have a lot of activity!
Now we just wait for Halloween to come and go because we just don't like all of that scary stuff! Our next visits together to the local craft stores will be early November because Grace starts screaming when we walk through the front doors (why do they always put that noisy, scary stuff right up front?). Oh well - we have enough projects to keep us busy!
Enjoy the slideshow! (and check back soon - another update in the works about an awesome experience we had earlier today!)
