and took a stroll along the boardwalk through the marsh. So beautiful and relaxing!
In mid-August, we decided to freshen up a couple of rooms in the house so we got a couple of new pieces of furniture for the family room and started work on redecorating the master
bedroom. I finished piecing the quilt for our bed and have a few of the pillows completed. We now need to finish painting and get the carpet ordered. Whew, that's one expensive quilt to trigger all of that redecorating! Here's a preview of the throw pillows -the quilt is back from the machine quilter. More pics to follow once I have the binding on it! But I can tell you, it's beautiful and I love it!
Over Labor Day Weekend we took our annual trip to Stratford, Ontario, Canada Grams Wheeler went with us and we took turns going to see the shows - Twelfth Knight, South Pacific, and Oliver! It was such a nice transition into fall because just that much f
urther north you could really feel it in the air. We had beautiful weather (some rain on Saturday as we were winding down the trip) and great food! Grace enjoyed jumping from the windowsill to the bed and then to the other bed!Tomorrow Grace starts her second year of preschool through the public school system. She'll be riding the bus and will be in the afternoon class with Miss Kristin (yay!). Her Autism doc has referred us to the Kaufman Center for a special therapy for speech dyspraxia. The daily drive to a suburb in NW Detroit will be tough, but we're sure it's the right thing to do, in addition to her weekly therapies here locally.
Gary still loves his reading, is looking forward to a strong Michigan football season, and has a new hobby of dabbling in the stock market! And still working long hours!
So . . . hopefully you'll check back here soon to see Grace getting on the school bus for the first time!
