What a nice Fathers' Day Weekend!

We started on Saturday morning opening Daddy's presents!  Of course, Grace helped and was excited to find an ice cream cone waffle baker!  (He also got a Cade's Cove t-shirt, but that wasn't quite as impressive).
Then we went to the library in Downtown Toledo and met the lady that was buying the Learning Tower.  We got one last picture of Grace in it before we left.  Boy has she grown!
The childrens room in the library is quite impressive.  A big car to sit in . . .
and a very nice fish tank!
On Sunday, after our weekly shopping trip, we headed out on our 'mystery' trip (we wouldn't tell Daddy where we were going).  So off we went to Marblehead, Ohio (on the shore of Lake Erie) for a not-so-impressive lunch, and then a nice visit to the Marblehead Lighthouse.
Then we drove on around the peninsula and found the Gaydos causeway to Johnson Island.  And there it was - a Confederate Cemetery from the Civil War!

We went back onto the mainland and headed to the Ohio Veterans Home that houses the museum for the Johnson Island.  I didn't take pictures there, but what a magnificent place!  Lots of different rooms, each dedicated to a specific war.  We didn't have the time to look like we might have because Miss Grace wasn't that interested, but we did visit the Civil War Room and the Johnson Island room.  Such a beautiful facility having been totally restored!

Then we were off to Friendly's for ice cream and headed home!
