Grace goes swimming each Tuesday after school with Mr. Jim and Miss Hannah. She LOVES it! Yesterday (Sunday) they had a water pageant for the children to show off their skills. It was a very nice production, complete with underwater camera and cookies and juice! Grace made the cover of the program! As the paragraph on the second frame indicates, we're working on interaction and listening skills. Once those are developed, the swimming strokes will come naturally.
Thanks Miss Kayla and Miss Shawn for coming to cheer Grace and Ryan on!
It's tough to read the paragraph on the second frame -
"Too often people measure the success of a child by the speed in which they swim or how "pretty" the stroke looks. Our program is student-centered, giving the child the ability to work at his or her pace. This allows us, the instructors, more opportunities to work on important areas of social interaction and behavior, listening, following directions, and adult interaction, many of which are important in the student's daily diet. This approach has proven to enhance individual success and discovery in the art of swimming. During this program students will demonstrate their personal best, all deserving to be recognized."
