We were so excited to have Gary's mom with us for several days in May, all the way from California!

She surprised Grace the first morning with her first music box! something we had never thought of and she loves it! It stays on the kitchen table and is right beside her plate for each and every meal!

The first couple of days we wore her out dragging her up to Detroit in the mornings for Grace's therapy! This is Grace working with Lacey at the table.
While Grace was in school Wednesday we wandered around a local greenhouse and found some beautiful red begonias! Hope I can keep them alive! Then on Thursday we planted them and the wave petunia pots for the fence.

We had breakfast at Cafe Marie Friday morning and Grams had a humongous plate of blueberry pancakes! She did not leave one single blueberry on her plate!

Grams Wheeler came over on Friday morning and we had a quiet day and an early Turkey dinner. Then we were off to Zoo Pal Night at the
Toledo Zoo. We got to see three of the four polar bear cubs that have been born in captivity in the U.S. They were pretty playful!

We rode the train through the African safari! This was a big hit with Grace, who now says 'rai' and signs train! Guess we'll be buying the season pass to ride the train as often as we can!
And then we had ice cream!
Saturday was a quiet day and just after lunch we headed down the river to Grand Rapids to the historic
Providence Metropark to ride one of the few functioning canal boats and working locks in the United States!

As we left the metropark, we had a contest to see if both Grandmothers could close their eyes as the same time for a picture! Boy are they good!

As we bid farewell on Sunday morning, I realized we didn't have a picture of Grace with both of her Grandmas, so we quickly got one!
